## Critical Weaknesses Found (18)

### CRITICAL (6) — Bugs that silently corrupt data or produce undefined behavior

#### 1. Unchecked Vector3 division operators
- **File**: Vector3.h:248-250
- **Problem**: `operator/(const Vector3&)` and `operator/(float)` produce INF/NaN with no error
- **C++ Code**: `Vector3 operator/(const Vector3& rhs) const;`
- **P³ Solution**: Zig error unions: `pub fn div(self: Vec3, rhs: Vec3) !Vec3 { if (rhs.hasZero()) return error.DivByZero; ... }`

#### 2. Normalize() divides by length with no zero-length check
- **File**: Vector3.h:129,135
- **Problem**: `GetNormalized()` → NaN when |v|=0. "Safe" variants are opt-in and return (0,0,0) — silently discarding error
- **C++ Code**: `Vector3 GetNormalized() const;`
- **P³ Solution**: `pub fn normalize(self: Vec3) !UnitVec3` — return type enforces normalization. Impossible to have unnormalized UnitVec3.

#### 3. Vector4::Homogenize() divides by w with no zero check
- **File**: Vector4.h:239-243
- **Problem**: w=0 is a valid projective point at infinity, but O3DE produces INF/NaN
- **C++ Code**: `void Homogenize();`
- **P³ Solution**: P³ operates natively in homogeneous coordinates. w=0 = direction vector — a valid geometric object, not an error. Type system distinguishes Point(w≠0) from Direction(w=0).

#### 4. Explicit gimbal lock in Euler angle conversions
- **File**: Quaternion.h:263-274
- **Problem**: Documentation admits: "gimbal lock occurs... roll is deliberately zeroed" — information silently destroyed
- **C++ Code**: `Vector3 GetEulerDegreesXYZ() const;`
- **P³ Solution**: P³ uses rotors (geometric algebra) — gimbal lock is mathematically impossible. Euler conversions return `!Euler` with `error.GimbalLock`.

#### 5. SystemAllocator singleton via Environment — global mutable state
- **File**: AllocatorInstance.h:22-52, SystemAllocator.h:27-61
- **Problem**: String-based lookup in global registry, implicit creation, no compile-time guarantee
- **C++ Code**: `Environment::FindVariable<Allocator>(AzTypeInfo<Allocator>::Name())`
- **P³ Solution**: Zig has no global singletons. Allocators passed explicitly: `pub fn init(allocator: std.mem.Allocator) !Self`

#### 6. No geometric invariants enforced — degenerate transforms representable
- **File**: Transform.h:22-23, Matrix4x4.h:92-99
- **Problem**: Matrix4x4 can represent non-invertible, zero-scale, non-orthogonal — all geometrically meaningless
- **C++ Code**: `static Matrix4x4 CreateProjection(float fovY, float aspectRatio, float nearDist, float farDist);`
- **P³ Solution**: Typed geometric objects: Rotor (always unit), Motor (always invertible), Dilator (always non-zero). `if (near >= far) return error.InvalidProjection;`

### HIGH (10) — Performance and safety issues

| # | Weakness | File | C++ Problem | P³/Zig Solution |
|---|----------|------|-------------|-----------------|
| 7 | GetReciprocal() no zero guard | Vector3.h:297 | 1/0 → INF | `!Vec3` error union |
| 8 | Matrix4x4::GetInverseFull() no singular check | Matrix4x4.h:232 | det=0 → garbage | `!Mat4x4` with error.SingularMatrix |
| 9 | Transform discards non-uniform scale | Transform.h:22 | "largest scale value used" | Motor with Vec3 scale |
| 10 | AZ_MATH_ASSERT disabled in release | MathUtils.h:33 | Safety checks removed | Zig ReleaseSafe keeps checks |
| 11 | Default constructors uninitialized | Vector3.h:37 | Random garbage on use | Zig: must initialize or `= undefined` explicit |
| 12 | IRttiHelper — 11 virtual functions | RTTI.h:34-51 | Vtable per type, UUID comparison | Zig @typeInfo comptime reflection |
| 13 | Component Activate/Deactivate virtual | Component.h:182 | Cache-hostile indirect call | Comptime generics, direct dispatch |
| 14 | Component heap via SystemAllocator | Component.h:31 | Raw pointers, no ownership | Arena per Entity, indices not pointers |
| 15 | Entity state machine — no compile-time guarantees | Entity.h:53 | Runtime-only state checks | Typestate pattern in Zig |
| 16 | EBus — virtual dispatch + heap handler lists | EBus.h:73-298 | Cache-unfriendly pointer chasing | Comptime EventBus, contiguous handlers |
| 17 | Event<Params> — type-erased AZStd::function | Event.h:49 | Heap-allocated callbacks | Direct fn pointers, ring buffer |
| 18 | IAllocator — virtual allocate/deallocate | IAllocator.h:118 | 3+ indirections per allocation | Comptime allocator, ArenaAllocator |

### MEDIUM (2)

| # | Weakness | File | C++ Problem | P³/Zig Solution |
|---|----------|------|-------------|-----------------|
| 19 | UUID string per class | Vector3.h:30 | ~40 bytes per class in binary | comptime @typeName hash |
| 20 | Union type-punning for SIMD | Vector3.h:339 | UB in strict C++ | Zig extern union — defined behavior |

## Why P³ Projective Geometry Kills O3DE Math

O3DE operates in **affine space** with explicit division at every boundary:
- Normalize → v/|v| (division)
- Homogenize → (x/w, y/w, z/w) (division)
- Inverse → adj(M)/det(M) (division)
- Reciprocal → 1/x (division)

Every division can produce INF/NaN. "Safe" variants exist but are opt-in.

P³ Engine operates in **projective space** where division is deferred:
- Homogeneous coordinates [x:y:z:w] — no division until rasterization
- PGL(4,ℝ) transforms — always invertible for valid transforms
- Fubini-Study metric — always well-defined on S³
- Geodesic composition — no matrix inversion needed
- Cross-ratio — PGL-invariant, no division until final evaluation

**Result**: Entire categories of O3DE bugs are **unrepresentable at compile time** in P³ Engine.
